Teach Darija on 'kilma'. Keep what you earn.
'kilma' is the learning platform for Moroccan Darija. Learners study vocabulary on their phone, tablet and computer, and they speak it with real teachers in one-to-one lessons. Both run on one learning record. Every lesson starts where the learner actually is.
Language test online, then a conversation with us.
What you get
We are a team of developers, designers and teachers with years of experience building learning platforms. 'kilma' rests on the findings of learning research: retrieval before the answer, spaced review, both directions, feedback with content. Your lessons sit on top of that, and the app does the repetition work between them.
- A classroom built for language lessons. One-to-one video, shared whiteboard, chat, photo annotation. Scheduling runs in 'kilma' and mirrors into your Google Calendar. Your students never need a Google account.
- The learning record, before the lesson starts. When you enter the room, you see what the learner studied, how the homework went and which words were hardest over the last 30 days. You build the lesson on words the learner already knows.
- Homework that closes the loop. You assign it in one click, the learner solves it in the app, and you see the result in the next lesson. Between lessons the learner keeps working with the trainer, so the next hour starts further along.
- Your own content. Private categories and tags for your students, next to the shared corpus. What you create stays yours and visible only to you and them.
- Learners who stay. Learners can work with several teachers in parallel on one learning record. A learner who keeps studying between lessons is a learner who keeps booking them.
What we ask
- You speak Darija as a native or near-native speaker and teach it through English, French, Spanish, German or Italian.
- You pass the short online language test for your teaching language (B2 or higher; 15 minutes at the desk, a short speaking task on your phone).
- You join a live conversation with us and teach one trial lesson.
- You keep your calendar current and your cancellations rare.
How to start
- Open the application form and leave your name and email. You receive a sign-in link, no password needed.
- Take the language test at your own pace. Each level is a short session.
- Once you pass B2, we invite you to a conversation and a trial lesson.
- You set your availability, your profile goes live, and learners book you directly.
